Maky is a filmmaker originally from New Jersey. Over the years he has slowly crept Westward, earning a dual degree in Economics and Film from the University of Michigan before settling down in Los Angeles.
His most recent short film, PEAS, is fiscally sponsored by Film Independent and will premiere at the American Cinematheque's short film festival, PROOF, in 2024. His feature screenplay, HAPPY PLATE, was selected as a second rounder in the Sundance Feature Film Lab. Maky has also directed, edited and produced several commercials, music videos and documentaries, and is a volunteer mentor in the Young Storytellers program.
He started his career in the talent department at ICM Partners before assisting Emmy-nominated producer Gavin Polone (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Zombieland). He is currently the development coordinator at Echo Lake Entertainment (The Great) and is a co-founder of Monday Night Media, a full service production company.
